Mohammed Enes Huri (1981 -) better known as Shami, is a calligrapher from Syria, today living in Turkey. He began studying calligraphy at an early age in Damascus. In 2004 he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Arabic calligraphy from The research center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA) in Istanbul. Shami works today with both classical and modern calligraphy. He has participated in numerous exhibitions and has held workshops in classical Arabic calligraphy in, among others, Kuwait for six months.
