Khalid Assai is an internationally recognized calligrapher, painter and sculptor. He was born in Syria but lives and works today in the USA.
He is educated at the Academy of Arts in Damascus and has a degree in Arabic calligraphy at the Center for cultural research, Islamic arts and culture in Istanbul, Turkey.
For Assai, poetry is the greatest inspiration in his creation and his latest exhibition “Snow’s embers” draws its inspiration from Swedish poetry. Alsaai has a large number of exhibitions behind him, both nationally and internationally.
