Amir Khatib is an Iraqi conceptual artist who live and work in Finland since 1990. He studied art at the Turku Academy of Fine Arts, Finland, obtained a master’s degree at the Sibelius Academy and a doctorate at the Helsinki Academy of Arts.
Amir worked as an actor and theater manager but was forced to flee his homeland. This led to him becoming more active in his artistic practice and in journalism.
He established the European Union Migrants Artists Network, which has organized 48 exhibitions around the world, and published a magazine called Universal colors between 1997 and 2021.
